Verification

What the badge means

A badge that's given away is worth nothing. This is exactly what sits behind ours.

  • Identity checked

An official document checked against the account holder. Without it, the profile doesn't publish.

  • Personal interview

A conversation about experience, which animals they accept, and how they'd react to specific situations that go wrong.

  • References contacted

Where there's prior experience, we contact whoever hired them. Where there isn't, the profile says so.

  • Visible history

Completed services, cancellations and open incidents stay attached to the profile and aren't deleted on request.

Data

What we do with your information

General Data Protection Regulation. What follows is the readable summary; the detail is in the privacy policy.

The minimum necessary
We ask for the data needed to provide the service and charge for it. Nothing more, and nothing you can't view and download.
Never sold on
Your data isn't sold or shared for commercial purposes. The processors we use are listed in the policy.
Rights you can exercise
Access, rectification, erasure, portability and objection, from your account or by writing to the contact address.
Location only during a service
A walk's route is recorded while the service is live and attached to that booking. Outside of that, nobody is tracked.
Incidents

If something goes wrong

The point isn't promising nothing will ever happen. It's having a procedure on the day it does.

Portrait of a smiling verified sitter
  1. Reported the same day

From the booking itself, with photos, and with the service's time log attached automatically.

  2. Both accounts reviewed

We compare the report, the time log and what both parties say before resolving anything.

  3. Real consequences

A confirmed incident affects the profile, and a pattern of incidents means the account is removed.

Community

What isn't allowed

Short rules, enforced. Breaking them means losing the profile, with no refund of commissions.

  • Mistreatment or neglect

Any form of physical punishment, withholding water, or abandoning an animal during a service means immediate removal.

  • Falsifying a profile

Invented experience, photos that aren't yours, or somebody else's identity. Verification exists precisely for this.

  • Operating off-platform

As well as breaking the terms, it leaves the service with no time log, no report and no incident procedure.

  • Discrimination

Neither between users nor towards sitters. Declining a booking needs no reason; rejecting a person for who they are does have consequences.

Start by meeting somebody

The free meet-and-greet is, in practice, the best safety measure that exists.
